Dorkumentary Live!

Stage 773, Chicago

I loved creating this multimedia variety show. It was a combination of my comedy webseries, live sketches, singing and dancing.

On Golden Pond

Theatre At The Center, Indiana

I played Chelsea, the daughter, in this classic play at Theatre At The Center. What a treat to work with the beautiful Ami Silvestre.

Miracle On South Division Street

Theatre At The Center, Indiana

“A solid performance by Adria Dawn”

Around The Town Chicago

“An honest and believable turn from Adria Dawn, who is a struggling actress”

Northwest Indiana Times

Rock N Roll Sex Machine

Tarleton/Dawn Productions, Stella Adler Theatre, Hollywood, CA

A Tarleton/Dawn production, Rock N Roll Sex Machine was our second theatre project. I wrote and performed this solo show in collaboration with the LA Writers Center. Che’Rae Adams directed, and David Tarleton executive produced it.  Floating around in space and time….from the 1970’s to present day, from the cornfields of Illinois to the palm trees of California, I play six different characters based on my unusual family and bizarre friends. Can you dig it?

Movement Director of Metamorphoses by Mary Zimmerman

Athena Theatre, Lankershim Arts Center, North Hollywood Arts District, CA

“Most striking in this production is the movement design by Adria Dawn, performed with uniform grace by the cast.”

StagesceneLA.com

“Adria Dawn choreographed the elegant movement that artistically elevates this evening of theatre.”

Pauline Adamek, Studio City Sun

“…the best judge is the public who attends and we heard many patrons describe their reactions with one common word as they exited – ‘Beautiful’.”

Jose Ruiz, Review Plays

Carnelle in The Miss Firecracker Contest by Beth Henley

Tarleton/Dawn Productions, North Hollywood Arts District, CA

This Equity play was my first joint collaboration with my husband and production partner, David Tarleton. He directed, I starred in it, and we both produced. Both of our roots are in theatre and we had been talking doing a play together as our first project. We worked with some lovely people on this production, including my cousin Sarah Scott Davis, as well as Luke Primeau, Cara Mantella, Kerri Stevens, JIllian Bell and designer Shauna Leone.

Uncommon Women and Others by Wendy Wasserstein

Tamarind Theatre, Los Angeles, CA

I played Muffet in this production. I would walk into the theatre and see a great view of the Hollywood sign in the mountains in the distance above it. It provided great inspiration for this great all gal cast.

Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said by Linda Hartinian adapted from the novel by Philip K. Dick

Stage Left Theatre, Chicago

“Adria Dawn, Patricia Kane and Amelia Barrett bring their scenes to life as the grotesque gallery of weirdoes...”

Sid Smith, Chicago Tribune

Trudy in Amanda and Eve by Alexandra Billings

“Oliver and Fabris create a credible couple, but they are outshone by several of the supporting players…Dawn’s distracted Trudy is a constant source of surprise…”

Jeff Rossen, Gay Chicago Magazine

The Skriker by Caryl Churchill

Defiant Theatre, Chicago

“They’ve put on one hell of a show.”

Richard Christiansen, Chicago Tribune

I understudied a principal role in this and got to perform. This show was absolutely one of my all time favorites. Directed by the amazing Linda Gillum.

Frankie Addams in Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers

“As Frankie, Adria Dawn… manages to fully realize the role of an awkward adolescent through an unforced body language and a charm that conquers bad haircuts and worse gowns.”

Paul Wood The News Gazette

Kabuki Witch in Kabuki Macbeth by William Shakespeare   reinterpreted by Shozo Sato

“The three witches played by Letty Hatfield, Jennifer Johnson and Adria Dawn, also get their moment in the spotlight, and they show how well an Elizabethan concept can translate to a very different form. Scary and fascinating, these are vintage witches.”

Julie Kistler The News Gazette

Generation Y What Do We Want? by Adria Dawn

Mary-Arrchie Theatre, Chicago

This was a non-verbal movement piece I made with the lovely Rebecca Behrman and the awesome Bil Ingraham. A raw look at young adult culture.

Sally Frye In Cut, Poison and Burn by Louis Peter Cimino

Mary-Arrchie Theatre, Chicago

“Amid this backdrop, a young cancer patient (Adria Dawn) is subjected to one invasive treatment after another..”

Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune

“The Physicists” by Friedrich Durrenmatt

A Red Orchid Theatre, Chicago

“….well staged by Guy Van Swearingen and well acted by a cast that goes unhesitatingly over the top when the script requires it.”  Kaarin Tisue Chicago SunTimes

Aunt Queenie in Bell, Book and Candle by John van Druten

“Adria Dawn goes all out as Aunt Queenie, bedecked in beads and floating scarves.”

Julie Kistler The News Gazette

Nancy in Angel Street by Patrick Hamilton

“The role of Nancy, the saucy maid, offers an actress a chance to have some fun in the midst of all the Gothic gloom. With piquant curls and an impudent manner, Adria Dawn makes a fine Nancy.”

Julie Kistler  The News Gazette

Felicia Dantine in I Hate Hamlet by Paul Rudnick

“...Adria Dawn, Michael Stock and Barbara Ann Bush are bright and funny; they put their laugh lines across and add texture to a delightful “I Hate Hamlet.”

Julie Kistler The News Gazette
