Adria Dawn private coaches actors, and has taught at and toured colleges teaching on-camera acting, auditioning, and self management. She recently relocated to New York, where she is currently teaching film directing and on-camera acting at Syracuse University. While in Chicago, Adria taught at Acting Studio Chicago, The Performer's School, and Columbia College Chicago. She has taught on-camera acting workshops across the United States and Europe.
Working with talent of all ages and levels, Adria has taught workshops or spoken at SAG-AFTRA Chicago, Franklin Arts Center, University of Michigan, DePaul University, Loyola University, Columbia College Chicago, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, New Trier High School, Chicago High School for the Arts, Chicago Screenwriters Network, Camp Hollywood in Portland, Oregon, Southside School, Champaign, IL, Chicago Acting in Film, The Chicago Artists Coalition, Deerfield High School, Gray Talent Group, The Illinois High School Theatre Festival and The Actor’s Centre in London, England.
At Tarleton/Dawn Productions, Adria offers personalized coaching on an individual basis as well as on-camera classes. Whether it’s helping an actor audition at his/her fullest potential, one on one ongoing acting classes, or group classes, emphasis is on creating focused, personalized performances. Tarleton/Dawn Productions classes have included REEL Class: Taking Training Out of the Classroom and Onto the Set, On-Camera Power, On-Camera/On-Stage and Producing Your Career, etc.
At Acting Studio Chicago, Adria was an on-camera acting instructor for many years. She taught Rock the Indie Film Callback, On-Camera Level 2 for Actors, On-Camera Level 3, Auditioning for Small Roles and Rock the Callback.
At The Performer’s School, Adria has taught on-camera acting workshops as well as a yearly five week filmmaking class working with younger talent to make films for social change. Topics have included bullying, social exclusion, cyber bullying, peer pressure, drug and alcohol abuse, gun violence, gender identity, etc. “Kids Matter” is made through Revealing Media Group, a partnership between Tarleton/Dawn Productions and The Performer's School. “Kids Matter” is distributed world wide. Adria is the teacher, writer, co-director and producer of this series.
As a film and television actor, Adria spent a decade in Los Angeles where she earned a "Gutsiest Actor on Television" nomination. She continues to expand her roster of film credits, working both in front of and behind the camera.
